Welcome to The Real Veal Company
The Real Veal Company was launched in 2006 on Vicky’s family farm at Bocaddon. The idea was to make use of the many unwanted dairy bull calves, to save them from being disposed of at birth and give them a decent life, and also to produce the best veal we could.
A lot has happened since those humble beginnings – we expanded to take calves from neighbouring herds; dairy farming came to an end at Bocaddon; and the rearing operation moved to a nearby farm. However our philosophy has always remained the same – dairy bull calves born, reared and slaughtered in Cornwall, and all hung, cut and meticulously prepared in our farm butchery at Bocaddon.
We have gained many accolades and plaudits, and had many fun adventures along the way – winning lots of local and national food awards, featuring in national newspapers and even appearing on TV cookery shows! It’s not all been plain sailing, and there has been a lot of hard work, but we still believe passionately about what we do.
Our Real Veal can be sent fresh to most mainland UK destinations by mail order, using temperature-controlled packaging to arrive with you in tip-top condition!
